Job summary

NatSteel Holdings Pte Ltd invites applications for a maintenance engineer/technician to service and maintain heavy machinery. The role involves corrective and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, and identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.

You will lead a team of technicians, ensure spare parts availability, and uphold safety standards including LOTO and WS H regulations. English & Chinese bilingual communication is required to liaise with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Higher NITEC/Diploma/ Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–2 years of maintenance experience in heavy industry.
• Entry-level are welcome to apply.
• Hands-on experience with PLC systems, AC/DC motors, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of safety compliance, WS H regulations, and LOTO procedures.
• Bilingual proficiency in English & Chinese (written and spoken).
• A proactive, resourceful problem-solver who works well in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor spare parts stock levels and raise purchase requisitions when low.
• Maintain safety in the work area, ensuring compliance with safety requirements and improvements.
• Identify and support improvement projects such as 5S, machine upgrades, or relocation.
• Perform maintenance tasks as assigned.

About the role

This role involves ensuring that the servicing and maintaining of machines through corrective and preventive maintenance are carried out effectively and as per plan. Troubleshoot, analyze, and safely resolve equipment breakdowns while identifying root causes to prevent recurrence.

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring that the servicing and maintaining of the machines through corrective and preventive maintenance are carried out effectively and as per plan

• Lead a team of technicians to troubleshoot, analyze issues, resolve equipment breakdown safely and identify the root cause to prevent recurrence

• Ensuring the in-stock parts quantity are sufficient and kept to ideal levels by monitoring spare parts consumption and replenishing stocks when low by raising purchase requisitions

• Sustaining and improving safety in the work area by ensuring the workplace and practices complies with safety requirements, while identifying and implementing safety improvements

• Identify, propose, implement, and/or support improvement projects such as 5S, installation of new machines, machines shifting, overhauling or upgrading for improved machine performance / ease of maintenance

• Perform task related to maintenance as assigned

Job Requirements

• Higher NITEC/Diploma/ Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. 1–2 years of maintenance experience in heavy industry

• Bilingual proficiency in English & Chinese (written and spoken) is required to translate technical documents and liaising with Chinese-speaking stakeholders/vendors
