Job summary

HMI Institute seeks a Director of Learning Operations, Governance and Learner Outcomes to lead the operational readiness and governance of training centres, learner administration and funding operations. The role ensures learner experience, career outcomes, employer feedback loops and alumni engagement run reliably, efficiently and professionally.

You will provide leadership across Learning Operations and Learning Governance, ensuring learners, trainers, partners, employers and regulators

Responsibilities

• Lead operational readiness, safety, resourcing and service continuity across training centres and satellite operations.
• Oversee admissions, learner records, onboarding, orientation and learner support for accurate, timely service across the learner lifecycle.
• Drive career outcomes, placement and early retention, tracking progression into employment and interventions for at-risk learners.
• Coordinate with employer-facing teams to gather feedback on graduate performance and translate insights into improvements in readiness and employability.
• Develop alumni engagement through mentoring, talks and institute activities to strengthen learner engagement and career confidence.
• Protect funding recoverability via eligibility checks, documentation, timely submissions and robust follow-up on exceptions.
• Plan facilities, trainers, resources and IT support to ensure smooth programme delivery.
• Oversee SOP governance, quality assurance, audit readiness and compliance tracking.
• Lead Learning Operations and Governance staff with clear ownership and accountability.
• Use data to improve workflows, strengthen controls and implement practical system improvements.
