Job summary

United Overseas Bank seeks an experienced engineering leader to drive end-to-end software development for banking systems. You will lead a technical team, participate in architecture design, and ensure delivery aligns with regulatory and policy standards.

Responsibilities include managing vendor relationships, applying agile methods, and streamlining deployments while reducing technical debt. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in application development and maintenance with full SDLC.
• Strong experience in technical delivery and technology implementation.
• Experience with managing third party vendor relationships and onshore/offshore teams.
• Experience with Waterfall / Agile practices (Scrum, CI, TDD).
• Solid experience in solutioning, system design, UML and object modeling.
• Strong delivery and project management experience for regulatory reporting in Asia.
• Experience with a variety of source control and development tools.
• Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end software development from initiation to support.
• Lead and manage a technical team delivering banking systems.
• Participate in design, development and review aligning with architecture standards.
• Analyze system impacts and implement optimal solutions.
• Stay updated with tech trends to enhance applications.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and architecture documentation.
• Oversee internal and vendor deliverables and ensure quality.
• Communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams on delivery.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and planning activities.
• Streamline deployment processes and rollout plans.
• Address technical debt with zero production impact.
• Adopt data-driven analysis to identify root causes and fix permanently.
