Qualifications

• 10+ years SAP development experience, with at least 5 years as Development Lead.
• Delivered two full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA with clean-core extensibility.
• Strong hands-on ABAP / ABAP for HANA / RAP; CDS/OData; Fiori/UI5; SAP BTP / CAP.
• Experience with code reviews, transport management, DevOps/CI-CD, and performance tuning.
• Experience in government, defence, or highly regulated environments preferred.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• SAP certification in ABAP Development or S/4HANA Extensibility; SAP BTP/Fiori certifications; Secure Coding certification.

Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced SAP Development Lead to lead the technical development workstream for a large-scale SAP S/4HANA implementation.
• The role will own RICEFW development, extensions, Fiori/UX, clean-core adoption, development standards, code quality, and technical delivery.
• The successful candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in ABAP, ABAP for HANA/RAP, CDS, OData, Fiori/UI5, SAP BTP, and clean-core extensibility, along with proven experience leading SAP development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the SAP development workstream, including RICEFW, extensions, integrations, and development backlog.
• Establish and enforce development standards, code quality, review processes, and technical governance.
• Drive clean-core development, leveraging in-app and side-by-side extensibility through SAP BTP, RAP, and CAP. Lead development across ABAP/ABAP for HANA, CDS, OData, Fiori/UI5, forms, interfaces, and enhancements.
• Translate functional requirements into technical specifications and development solutions.
• Manage developer authorisations, transport management, and DevOps/CI-CD practices in collaboration with Basis and architecture teams.
• Ensure appropriate unit testing, security scanning, performance optimisation, and code quality.
• Support SIT/UAT defect resolution and technical cutover activities, including migration and conversion programs.
• Lead and mentor development teams, including security-cleared and distributed teams where applicable.
• Ensure development activities comply with security, governance, and controlled-environment requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• 10+ years of SAP development experience, including at least 5 years in a Development Lead role.
• Proven experience delivering at least two full-lifecycle SAP S/4HANA implementations with clean-core extensibility.
• Strong hands-on expertise in: ABAP / ABAP for HANA / RAP CDS Views OData SAP Fiori / UI5 Adobe Forms / SmartForms Interfaces and enhancements SAP BTP / CAP Strong understanding of clean-core principles, in-app and side-by-side extensibility, and API-based integration.
• Experience with code reviews, security scanning, transport management, DevOps/CI-CD, and performance tuning.
• Proven experience leading SAP development teams and managing development quality.
• Experience in government, defence, or highly regulated environments is highly preferred.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
