K2 PARTNERING SOLUTIONS PTE. LTD. seeks a Senior SAP ABAP / S/4HANA Software Engineer to design, build and optimize backend solutions across the SAP landscape, including ABAP, CDS views, and OData services.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain custom ABAP solutions with ABAP Objects, Enhancements, User Exits, BAdIs, and Workflow.
• Develop and optimize backend OData services, CDS views, and annotations to support Fiori applications.
• Utilise modern development frameworks including BOPF, FPM, and RAP for backend development.
• Develop custom workbenches, interactive dialog programs, BDC scripts, and Adobe Interactive Forms.
• Analyze, debug, and perform code-level performance tuning on ABAP programs and interfaces.
• Apply HANA code push-down concepts and convert legacy SQL/logic into optimized CDS and database views.
• Serve as an operational developer to diagnose and resolve high-urgency defects and go-live issues.
• Build and support interfaces using Web Services, RFCs, Proxies, IDOCs, EDI, and cXML/Ariba integrations.
• Create custom data extraction tools, ETL logic, and BW extractors for reporting.

Senior SAP ABAP / S/4HANA Software Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP ABAP / S/4HANA Software Engineer to build, enhance, and optimize backend solutions across our SAP landscape. In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for designing and developing robust ABAP applications, Core Data Services (CDS) views, OData services, and complex custom integrations.

You will work closely with functional teams and solution leads to translate business requirements into efficient technical code, troubleshoot critical issues, and drive performance tuning in an S/4HANA environment.

Key Responsibilities

Custom Development & S/4HANA Programming

• Design, build, and maintain custom ABAP solutions using ABAP Objects, Enhancements, UserExits, BAdIs, and Workflow.

• Develop and optimize backend OData services, CDS views, and annotations to support Fiori applications.

• Utilise modern development frameworks, including BOPF (Business Object Processing Framework), Floorplan Manager (FPM), and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP).

• Develop custom workbenches, interactive dialog programs, BDC scripts, and Adobe Interactive Forms.

Performance Tuning & Troubleshooting

• Analyze, debug, and perform code-level performance tuning on existing ABAP programs and interfaces.

• Apply HANA code push-down concepts and convert legacy SQL/logic into optimized CDS and database views.

• Serve as an operational developer ("firefighter") to rapidly diagnose and resolve high-urgency defects and go-live issues.

Integration & Data Management

• Build and support interfaces using Web Services, RFCs, Proxies, IDOCs, EDI, and cXML/Ariba integrations.

• Create custom data extraction tools, ETL logic, and BW extractors to support reporting and third-party systems.

• Assist with data migration activities, cutover program builds, and archiving routines (SAP ADK).

Quality Assurance & Collaboration

• Participate in technical design sessions, perform peer code reviews, and execute system quality checks (ATC/SLIN).

• Prepare clear technical documentation, unit test plans, and transport requests.

• Collaborate with functional consultants across core SAP modules to verify technical requirements and ensure seamless integration.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 15- 20+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience, including work with S/4HANA and HANA CDS development.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Core ABAP & Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in ABAP, ABAP Objects, Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS), and OData service development.

  • Hands-on experience with CDS Views, Annotations, BOPF, FBI, and FPM.

  • Proven experience in interface development (Proxies, Web Services, RFC, IDOC, EDI).

  • Solid skills in performance analysis, SQL trace, and HANA code push-down techniques.

• Functional Awareness: Development experience across SAP Logistics/SCM (SD, MM, LE), Plant Maintenance (PM/MRO), HR/HCM, or SAP TM (Transportation Management).

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, excellent debugging abilities, clear communication skills, and the capacity to deliver high-quality code under tight project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• SAP Certified Development Associate – ABAP.

• Practical experience supporting Fiori Elements or Freestyle Fiori applications on the backend.

• Familiarity with transport management tools, SAP Solution Manager (CHARM), or custom deployment utilities.
