Job summary

Cornerstone Global Partners is seeking an SAP Development Lead to own end-to-end development and technical delivery across the SAP landscape. • Proven practices in code reviews, automated security scanning, transport discipline, and DevOps.

• Drive unit-test coverage, security scanning, and performance-conscious coding.
• Support SIT/UAT defect resolution and construct cutover objects.

Job description

Role Overview

The SAP Development Lead will own the end-to-end development workstream and technical delivery across the SAP landscape. This role involves governing technical quality, enforcing clean-core extensibility practices, leading development teams in secure environments, and collaborating with functional and architecture leads to deliver high-performing SAP solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Development Management: Own the RICEFW / extension backlog, build standards, code review processes, and overall technical quality.

• Clean-Core Governance: Enforce clean-core development principles, prioritizing in-app and side-by-side extensibility (SAP BTP, RAP / CAP) over core modifications, and govern the extension register.

• Technical Leadership: Lead development across ABAP (including ABAP for HANA / RAP), CDS views, OData services, Fiori / UI5 applications, forms (Adobe / SmartForms), interfaces, and enhancements.

• Operations & DevOps: Oversee developer authorizations, transport discipline, and DevOps / CI-CD practices in collaboration with Basis and Technical Architecture teams.

• Functional Integration: Translate functional specifications into detailed technical specifications and delivered objects alongside functional leads.

• Quality & Performance: Drive unit-test coverage, code security scanning, and performance-conscious development.

• Testing & Cutover Support: Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) defect resolution, and construct technical cutover objects (migration programs and conversions).

• Team Governance: Manage on-shore and off-shore development teams in compliance with classified, restricted access, and project-specific guidelines.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Implementation Experience:

  • Substantial SAP development experience, including leadership experience in a Development Lead capacity.

  • Demonstrated participation in full-lifecycle S/4HANA implementations featuring clean-core extensibility.

• Technical Expertise:

  • Development Breadth: Deep technical capability in ABAP (including ABAP for HANA / RAP), CDS views, OData, Fiori / UI5, forms, interfaces, and enhancements.

  • Clean-Core & BTP: Hands-on experience with in-app and side-by-side extensibility, SAP BTP (CAP / RAP), and API-based integrations.

  • Engineering Practice: Proven experience in code reviews, automated security scanning (e.g., CVA / ATC), transport management, DevOps discipline, and performance tuning.

  • Leadership & Environment: Track record of leading developer teams in controlled, secure, restricted-access, or public-sector environments.

• Education & Certifications:

  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

  • SAP Certification in ABAP / Development or S/4HANA Extensibility.

  • Practical awareness of SAP Activate methodology.

• Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAP BTP or SAP Fiori certifications.

  • Secure-coding certifications or training.
