Job summary

TAKENAKA EUROPE GmbH in Singapore seeks a Construction Manager to drive the conceptual development of multiple projects, overseeing organization, scheduling and implementation on site. You will plan, lead and monitor progress, manage day-to-day operations, manpower planning, and master schedule preparation with cost controls.

You will be responsible for keeping projects within approved budgets, directing responses to delays or emergencies, and maintaining collaboration with Project Managers,

Qualifications

• Minimun 15 - 18 years of relevant working experience within the Construction industry.
• Degree/Masters in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Japanese fluency would be advantageous for HQ coordination.

Responsibilities

• Oversee conceptual development and organization of construction projects.
• Plan, lead and monitor progress against the project plan and master schedule.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects including manpower planning and cost control.
• Control costs to keep projects within approved budgets for materials, manpower and machinery.
• Issue timely instructions to address delays or emergencies on site.
• Review manpower planning and work schedules to ensure smooth delegation.
• Enforce safe, economical methodologies and project standards.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Architects and engineers to minimize errors.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, sub-contractors and authorities to resolve site issues.

Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

1. The Construction Manager shall play a key role in the conceptual development of the various construction projects and oversee its organization, scheduling, and implementation

2. He/She will be required to plan, lead and monitor progress and performance against the project plan whilst managing the day-to-day operational aspects of projects which includes manpower planning, construction progress monitoring, preparation of master schedule and cost control

3. Responsible for cost management to manage projects within approved budgets, include materials, manpower and machinery cost control for new and running projects

4. Responsible for exercising timely instructions to deal with the results of delays, or emergencies at construction project sites

5. Reviewing manpower planning and monitoring of work schedules to ensure orderly delegation of jobs and smooth operation.

6. Ensure to exercise effectively safe and economical methodology and enforces project standards

7. To maintain close collaboration with Project Managers, Architects, Engineers and all stakeholders to minimise errors in the process to achieve smooth completion of projects

8. To liaise closely with clients, consultants, sub-contractors, relevant authorities and developers in resolving site issues and authorities compliance issue

9. To provide evaluation/findings and project results to HQ Tokyo in Japan on a frequent basis

Requirements:

• Minimun 15 - 18 years of relevant working experience within the Construction industry


• Should possess a minimum qualification of Degree/Masters in Engineering or equivalent qualification


• Ability to prioritize tasks well and able to work independently


• Able to work under stress and complete tasks within set deadlines


• Fluency in spoken and written Japanese would be advantageous as the incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate with Japan Head Office
