Job summary

Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree in Singapore invites applications for Commis Cooks 1 or 2. The role supports the Executive Chef with ingredient prep, portioning and cooking according to recipes, while ensuring HACCP and food safety standards are followed.

Ideal candidates hold a hospitality-related qualification and have 1–2 years in hospitality or F&B, with strong interpersonal and organizational skills. Shuttle service, daily meals, medical benefits, and bonus incentives are provided.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years’ experience in hospitality or food & beverage.
• Fresh graduates welcome to apply.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Chef in ingredient preparation, portioning and storage.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
• Wash and prep fruits and vegetables as needed.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes and standards.
• Serve food in proper portions with appropriate garnish.
• Ensure proper food storage, hygiene and cleanliness of kitchen areas.
• Monitor temperature of appliances and foods; report issues to Chef.
• Adhere to HACCP guidelines and food safety policies.
• Support busy periods and communicate needs to ensure smooth service.
• Other tasks as assigned by the Executive Chef.
