Job summary

Mandai Resorts Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a passionate culinary professional to join us as a Commis.

You will work under the Executive Chef, assisting in ingredient preparation, portioning, and ensuring quality and presentation of dishes. You will help embed brand service and quality standards, follow HACCP guidelines, and uphold food safety policies across the kitchen. Candidates with 1–2 years of hospitality experience are welcomed to apply, with strong teamwork and communication skills

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years' experience, preferably in the hospitality or food & beverage industry.
• Candidates without experience are welcome to apply
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team in a fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Executive Chef in preparation of ingredients, including portioning, chopping, and storing before service.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes with kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Wash and prep fresh fruits and vegetables for cooking or consumption.
• Prepare and cook food according to recipes.
• Serve food in proper portions with correct plate presentation.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnish for service to guests.
• Maintain cleanliness of storage and cooking areas after each shift/service.
• Prepare hazardous foods at correct temperatures per HACCP guidelines.
• Follow personal hygiene procedures to ensure safe food for guests.
• Follow and enforce food safety and handling policies and procedures.
• Communicate needs during busy periods to the Chef for optimum service.
• Ensure quality of ingredients delivered by suppliers and report discrepancies.
• Monitor appliance temperatures and storage areas; report issues to supervisor.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of kitchen food safety policies.
• Work under demanding and strenuous situations.
• Monitor food quantities to control waste.
