Job summary

N & T Engineering Enterprise (PTE) LTD is seeking a focused Building Maintenance Professional to oversee regular inspections, monitor essential systems, and coordinate repairs. The role emphasizes safety, reliability, and timely responses to maintenance requests in a facilities environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Diploma/Higher Nitec and experience in building operations, with strong communication and problem-solving skills to support Building/Facilities Managers and tenants.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Higher Nitec or equivalent in mechanical/electrical/building services or related field.
• Experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or building operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance, contractor supervision, and technical reporting.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and local regulations.
• Good communication, coordination, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections of the building, common areas, plant rooms, and facilities.
• Monitor and maintain building systems (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection).
• Identify defects, investigate issues, and coordinate rectification works.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to minimise breakdowns and disruptions.
• Attend to breakdowns, maintenance requests, and technical complaints promptly.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors, term contractors, and service providers.
• Monitor progress and quality of maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
• Ensure contractors comply with safety procedures and work requirements.
• Verify completed works and report defects or outstanding items.
• Assist in obtaining quotations and evaluating maintenance or repair works.
• Maintain safe and serviceable facilities and equipment.
• Support compliance with building regulations, fire safety, and workplace safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and report hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain inspection records, permits, and incident reports.
• Assist with emergency response, evacuation drills, and investigations.
• Maintain maintenance schedules, equipment records, and service reports.
• Prepare reports on defects, breakdowns, and rectification works.
• Monitor outstanding issues and follow up to completion.

Requirements:

• Diploma, Higher Nitec, Nitec, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities management, property management, or building operations is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, air-conditioning, and fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with preventive maintenance, contractor supervision, and technical reporting.
• Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and relevant local regulations.
• Good communication, coordination, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to attend to urgent maintenance issues or emergencies when required.
