Job Role

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) - UI Design & Component Engineering to lead the standardization and optimization of UI architecture across all regional banking applications. This role combines strategic UI/UX design with hands-on component engineering to eliminate code duplication, establish design governance, and optimize page performance on our global digital banking platform. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, architecting a scalable, reusable component library and ensuring consistent user experiences across geographies, products, and channels, without compromising performance or accessibility.

Responsibilities

1. UI Design & Component Architecture: Lead and maintain a comprehensive, framework-agnostic design system for UI components, ensuring accessibility and adherence to design standards across all regions and products.

Required Qualifications

Experience

8+ years in UI design, component engineering, or product engineering; 5+ years leading/architecting large-scale design systems (multi-product/multi-region); 3+ years in a senior/leadership role.

Technical Skills

Deep expertise in React, Angular, modern web frameworks (Webpack, Vite), CSS/styling solutions, web performance optimization, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1). Strong experience with design system tools (Figma, Storybook), Git, testing frameworks, build optimization, and TypeScript.

Domain Knowledge

Preferred banking/FinTech experience, understanding of multi-region/multi-product complexity in digital banking, mobile/responsive design, and micro-frontend architectures.

Leadership & Soft Skills

Strategic thinking, cross-functional leadership, strong communication, mentorship, governance, and problem-solving.
