In Group Technology, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.**Job Role**We are seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) - UI Design & Component Engineering to lead the standardization and optimization of UI architecture across all regional banking applications. This role combines strategic UI/UX design with hands-on component engineering to eliminate code duplication, establish design governance, and optimize page performance on our global digital banking platform. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader, architecting a scalable, reusable component library and ensuring consistent user experiences across geographies, products, and channels, without compromising performance or accessibility.**Responsibilities**1. **UI Design & Component Architecture:** Lead and maintain a comprehensive, framework-agnostic design system for UI components, ensuring accessibility and adherence to design standards across all regions and products.2. **Journey Standardization & Code Deduplication:** Standardize user journeys across APAC markets, design flexible architectures for regional variations within a unified codebase, and lead migration efforts to the standardized component library.3. **UI Performance Optimization (20%):** Define and optimize UI/page load performance through techniques like code splitting, image optimization, and build pipeline enhancements, ensuring sub-2-second load times.4. **Theme Management & Styling System:** Design and implement a flexible, maintainable theming system supporting multi-brand themes, dark/light mode, and accessibility-compliant color palettes, synchronized with design tools.**Required Qualifications:*** **Experience:** 8+ years in UI design, component engineering, or product engineering; 5+ years leading/architecting large-scale design systems (multi-product/multi-region); 3+ years in a senior/leadership role.* **Technical Skills:** Deep expertise in React, Angular, modern web frameworks (Webpack, Vite), CSS/styling solutions, web performance optimization, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1).
