Job summary

DBS Bank Ltd. seeks an experienced Senior Vice President, Engineering Lead to drive design, development, and modernization of mission-critical Core Banking platforms at the DBS Asia Hub in Singapore.

The role combines deep technical expertise with engineering leadership across architecture, solution design, governance, and delivery, leading multiple squads and shaping technology decisions. You will own end-to-end delivery, oversee automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and modern software

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on software engineering experience with Core Banking or large-scale transaction processing systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams while actively involved in architecture and technical decisions.
• Exposure to Java/Spring Boot, Angular or React, Microservices & API Architecture, Event-Driven Systems, CI/CD and DevSecOps, Linux, and Kubernetes/OpenShift.

Role Purpose

DBS is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President, Engineering Lead to drive the design, development, and modernization of mission-critical Core Banking platforms.

This role combines deep technical expertise with engineering leadership, requiring active involvement in architecture, solution design, engineering governance, and delivery execution across Core Banking domains. The successful candidate will lead engineering teams while shaping technology decisions, solving complex technical challenges, and driving platform transformation at scale.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Architecture Leadership

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of large-scale Core Banking applications and services.
• Provide robust technical leadership for solution design, system architecture, API strategy, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Drive the adoption of cloud-native architectures, microservices, event-driven design patterns, and engineering best practices.
• Conduct architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and technical governance across multiple delivery teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, including AI-assisted software development, to improve engineering productivity and platform capabilities.

Delivery & Platform Ownership

• Lead multiple engineering squads delivering strategic initiatives and business-critical enhancements.
• Partner closely with business, product, and architecture teams to translate requirements into scalable and resilient solutions.
• Own end-to-end delivery accountability from solution design through production implementation and support.
• Ensure engineering quality through automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and modern software development practices.
• Drive continuous improvements in performance, reliability, observability, stability, and operational readiness.

Core Banking Technology Leadership

• Provide technical leadership across key Core Banking domains, including Customer Management, Deposits, Loans, Transaction Processing, Settlement, and General Ledger integration.
• Define technical roadmaps and modernization strategies aligned to business priorities.
• Identify architecture, capacity, performance, and resiliency gaps and drive remediation initiatives.
• Support the resolution of critical production incidents and lead root-cause analysis for major technology issues.

People & Stakeholder Leadership

• Coach and mentor engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers.
• Build a strong engineering culture focused on ownership, innovation, and technical excellence.
• Act as a trusted technology advisor to senior stakeholders and influence strategic technology decisions.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering experience with significant exposure to Core Banking or large-scale transaction processing systems.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams while remaining actively involved in architecture and technical decision-making.
• Strong hands-on proficiency in Java / Spring BootAngular or ReactMicroservices & API ArchitectureEvent-Driven SystemsCI/CD and DevSecOpsLinux and Middleware PlatformsKubernetes / OpenShift or equivalent cloud-native platformsExposure to MongoDB is a distinct advantage.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, performance engineering, and high-availability platforms.
• Strong Core Banking domain expertise across Deposits, Loans, Customer Management, Transaction Processing, Settlement, and Accounting flows.
• Proven experience driving platform modernization and legacy transformation initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
