Job summary

YYForce is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer, Autonomy Systems to build the software foundation that connects our robot hardware, intelligence and applications. You will integrate modules into a reliable system, define interfaces, and develop tools to deploy, monitor and improve robots in the field.

This hands‑on role emphasizes ownership of system architecture, integration quality and robot reliability, with collaboration across perception, manipulation, navigation and embodied AI teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and/or Python.
• Experience developing or integrating software for robotic or embedded systems.
• Experience with ROS or ROS 2 and distributed software systems.
• Understanding of software architecture, APIs, concurrency and inter‑process communication.
• Ability to diagnose complex system‑level issues involving both hardware and software.
• Comfortable working hands‑on with physical robots.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain the software architecture connecting perception, manipulation, navigation, interaction and task execution.
• Develop reusable interfaces, services and hardware abstraction layers across different robot platforms.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, robot SDKs and third‑party software into the robotics stack.
• Build task orchestration, state management, error handling and recovery mechanisms.
• Explore agentic task planning for high‑level robot orchestration.
• Build tools for configuration, logging, monitoring, diagnostics and remote support.
• Improve system performance, reliability and maintainability through testing on physical robots.
• Support robot deployment and troubleshoot issues across hardware and software boundaries.
• Work closely with manipulation, perception, navigation and embodied AI engineers.
