Assistant Finance Manager

Salary:S$4,000 – S$5,000 per month

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Assistant Finance Manager to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the Company's day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and supporting financial planning and business decision-making.

You will work closely with Finance, Sales, Procurement, Operations and Management to provide meaningful financial insights, improve financial processes and support the Company's operational and business objectives.

The role covers financial reporting, month-end closing, budgeting, cash-flow management, accounts receivable and payable, inventory and costing, audit and tax matters.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Management

• Oversee month-end and year-end closing activities, including the preparation and review of financial statements, management reports and supporting schedules.

• Prepare budgets, financial forecasts and variance analyses to support business planning and performance monitoring.

• Provide timely and accurate financial information, analysis and recommendations to management.

• Monitor financial performance, identify key trends and variances, and work with relevant stakeholders to improve financial and operational performance.

Financial Operations & Controls

• Oversee key finance processes, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory accounting and product costing.

• Monitor product costing, inventory valuation and profitability to support accurate financial reporting and business decisions.

• Monitor the Company's cash position, working capital, liquidity requirements and customer credit exposure.

• Prepare and maintain short- and medium-term cash-flow forecasts.

• Review customer receivables and overdue balances, and coordinate with relevant departments on collection matters.

• Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial processes, accuracy and efficiency.

Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Support the Finance Manager in planning and coordinating the annual external audit.

• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents and other relevant professional advisers.

• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations and internal financial policies.

• Review and maintain appropriate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Systems & Process Improvement

• Support the implementation, integration and enhancement of ERP and finance systems.

• Identify opportunities to streamline financial workflows, strengthen internal controls and improve reporting efficiency.

• Work with relevant departments to ensure accurate financial data and effective integration between operational and finance processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, or an equivalent professional qualification.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting, with demonstrated experience in financial reporting, month-end closing and financial operations.

• Practical experience in financial audits, including preparing audit schedules, reviewing supporting documentation and coordinating with external auditors.

• Strong working knowledge of applicable accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements and Singapore tax regulations.

• Hands‑on experience in ERP or finance system implementation, integration or process improvement.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central would be an advantage.

• CPA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification would be an advantage.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial management skills.

• Ability to interpret financial information and communicate findings clearly to management and relevant stakeholders.

• Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and reporting deadlines.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Proactive, resourceful and comfortable working in a dynamic business environment.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
