Job Description
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of Singapore office, including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, analyses financial performance, and collaborates with other departments to drive cost‑saving initiatives and strategic planning.
The Finance Manager leads Finance as a standalone department, partnering with senior management and operations across the business. Strong leadership and attention to detail are essential.
Accounting & Operations
- Manage and support the full set of accounts, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger
- Oversee product costing, including standard cost setting and cost roll‑ups
- Analyse key cost drivers such as materials, labour, depreciation, yield, and overhead absorption
- Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Partner with operations to evaluate make‑or‑buy decisions and process improvements
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision‑making
- Analyse financial performance and provide insights to optimise profitability and efficiency
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the bi‑annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to align financial goals with strategic objectives
- Monitor budget vs. actual performance, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Prepare rolling forecasts to anticipate financial trends and support agile decision‑making
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and ensure timely filing of financial statements and tax returns
- Complete and submit all GST returns and ensure compliance
- Implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain data integrity
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital to ensure adequate funding for operations
- Optimise banking relationships and implement cash management strategies to maximise returns on surplus funds
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timeliness and accuracy of monthly and year‑end closing
- Budgeting and forecasting accuracy (budget vs. actual variance)
- Costing accuracy and realised cost‑reduction savings
- Statutory, tax, and GST filing compliance
- Audit outcomes and internal control findings
- Cash flow and working‑capital management
- Timeliness of management reporting
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance preferred
- Minimum 5–7 years of working experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with management experience
- Able to communicate and liaise with Mandarin‑speaking counterparts, including those in China office
- Good knowledge of accounting standards
- Proficiency in SQL and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
