Job summary

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years in LSI-related roles.

Job description

What the role is:

You will coordinate and oversee matters related to Liveability, Sustainability and Infrastructure (LSI) across naval base development projects, addressing quality-of-life and well-being issues to enable an engaged workforce.

What you will be working on:

• Coordinate and oversee LSI matters across base development projects
• Ensure development sites meet compliance and standards, including the monitoring of workplace conditions
• Incorporate welfare inputs and considerations into the design of working spaces within the base
• Engage stakeholders to incorporate their inputs on climate adaptation, energy sources and efficiency, resource management and environmental protection measures into base designs
• Provide governance and advisory oversight to ensure bases support long-term climate resilience and sustainability outcomes in alignment with national sustainability goals
• Conduct regular on-site inspections to record defects as well as climate and sustainability issues that may affect or result from construction
• Supporting tasks across other sites within the unit's remit when circumstances demand

Challenge(s)

• Navigating large-scale project management within existing policy frameworks, infrastructure guidelines, evolving energy sources, climate adaptation and green sustainability requirements
• Developing an understanding of military operations sufficient to ensure design and technical specifications meet the operational requirements of base users
• Serving as the resident subject matter expert for LSI domains, overseeing all functional and policy processes across these areas, and constantly reviewing internal work procedures to ensure effective and efficient daily workflow for the team

What we are looking for:

• Education in Liveability and Sustainability, Building Infrastructure, Climate Adaptation, Climate Resilience, Environmental Protection, Resource Management, or a related field is preferred
• At least 6 years of experience, with at least 3 years of relevant experience in project management holding a suitably senior role, preferably in the LSI domains
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders
