About the Job
We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer (Volpay) to join a global production support team responsible for a mission‑critical international payments platform. This role focuses on ensuring stability, performance, and availability of the payment ecosystem, supporting high‑value payment processing across SWIFT and ISO 20022 messaging.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide functional and technical support for the VolPay (Volante Technologies) payment platform.
- Investigate and resolve production incidents while meeting agreed SLAs and participating in an on‑call support rotation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot international payment processing, including SWIFT (MT103, MT202, MT940, MT950) and ISO 20022 (pacs, camt, pain) messages.
- Manage Docker container deployments and lifecycle using Ansible Tower, including upgrades and release activities.
- Perform troubleshooting across Unix/Linux, IBM MQ, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, ZooKeeper, batch processing, APIs, and system integrations.
- Develop shell scripts and enhance monitoring using Splunk to improve operational efficiency.
- Support application releases, execute deployment and rollback plans, and contribute to ITIL change management processes.
- Drive continuous improvements through automation, proactive monitoring, and reduction of recurring production incidents.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in banking application support or production operations.
- Hands‑on experience supporting VolPay or a similar enterprise payments platform.
- Strong knowledge of international payments, SWIFT, and ISO 20022 messaging.
- Solid experience with Unix/Linux, Docker, Ansible, Shell scripting, IBM MQ, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL, and application monitoring tools such as Splunk.
- Experience supporting production environments within an international banking or financial services organization.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset and willingness to participate in an on‑call support rotation.
