Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is seeking an experienced Java developer to design and implement payment and messaging solutions using Java and VolPay. You will collaborate with analysts to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and build APIs interfacing internal systems with external payment networks.

The role requires strong Java experience (5+ years), familiarity with VolPay, and a solid background in REST/SOAP APIs, financial messaging, and agile delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional Java development experience (core Java, J2EE, Spring).
• Strong experience with VolPay (Volante Technologies) payments platform: integration, workflow development, and configuration.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Design and develop payment and messaging solutions using JAVA and VolPay, ensuring alignment with business needs and technical best practices
• Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
• Customize and enhance VolPay workflows and integrations for various payment schemes (SEPA, SWIFT, ISO20022, etc.)
• Develop and maintain APIs and interfaces between internal systems and external payment networks
• Participate in system architecture design, solution reviews, and technical documentation
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and support functional/user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Troubleshoot development and production issues related to payment processing and integrations
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and DevOps pipelines
• Provide estimates for assigned development activities and deliver high-quality code within committed timeframes
• Support deployments and post-Go-Live activities ensuring minimal disruption and high system uptime

Requirements

• Min. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional JAVA development experience (core JAVA, J2EE, Spring Framework)
• Strong experience with Volpay (Volante Technologies) payments platform: integration, workflow development, and configuration or similar payment platform
• Experience with financial messaging (SWIFT, ISO 20022, SEPA, SIC, MEPS, HK etc.) and payment flows
• Hands-on experience developing and consuming REST/SOAP APIs for payment and banking applications
• Familiar with payment digitalization, regulatory requirements such as PSD2, and fraud detection systems
• Strong SQL, data modeling, and integration experience between systems
• Experience in private banking or financial services environments is a strong plus
• Knowledge of agile software development and distributed delivery teams
