Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Trading Operations Specialist to support client bookings and trade reporting for equities across the Asia Pacific region. The role sits in a lean regional Operations team handling clearance, settlement and reconciliation of trades and positions for client accounts.

The candidate will collaborate with traders, finance, compliance, and external counterparties, and work with engineers to automate manual processes.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a financial services back office or operations role.
• Clear written and spoken English communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with ability to navigate systems.
• Willingness to work early shift hours to cover regional markets.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily client bookings, trade capture and reporting for equities across Asia Pacific markets.
• Oversee clearance, settlement and reconciliation of trades and positions; identify and resolve breaks promptly.
• Liaise with traders, finance, compliance, brokers, custodians and clients to resolve queries.
• Maintain accuracy of books and records; escalate exceptions and potential risk items.
• Collaborate with software engineers to automate, test and improve operational workflows and controls.
• Represent the firm in direct communication with external parties under market deadlines.
