Job summary

Cohere is seeking a senior leader to stand up the APAC PR and Communications function, partnering with global teams to shape regional plans that resonate with governments and enterprises in highly regulated industries.

You’ll build a regional team, hire agencies, and craft messaging for customers, partners and employees, ensuring cultural alignment and strong executive visibility across APAC.

Qualifications

• Have 12-15 years of in-house corporate communications experience, ideally within a fast-paced tech or AI environment
• 5+ years of people management experience
• Are scrappy and enjoy outside-the-box problem solving
• Are experienced at hiring, onboarding, and managing PR agencies
• Are adept in pre-IPO communications
• Have experience and/or interest in policy and regulatory communications
• Are an exceptional writer able to distill complex topics into simple narratives
• Have experience partnering with senior leaders and HR teams
• Are highly organised with strong project management and bias for action
• Bring creativity to communications across formats, channels, and storytelling

Responsibilities

• Build a PR and Communications function across APAC, hiring managers and agencies in key territories
• Develop regional comms plans aligned with goals, values and brand positioning
• Craft messaging with PR, marketing, sales, and external stakeholders
• Develop rapid response capabilities in each region
• Oversee high-impact forums: executive speaking, conferences, events, and leadership gatherings
• Adopt AI integration to enhance content ideation, creation and scaling
• Oversee APAC communications channel ecosystem including earned and owned media
• Lead storytelling initiatives connecting daily work to Cohere's mission
• Use data-driven insights to tailor comms to audiences
• Coordinate crisis and issues comms with legal and leadership
