Job summary

Barclays in Singapore seeks an experienced Employee Relations expert to lead ER matters across Asia Pacific, partnering with HR, Legal and compliance to deliver fair, compliant outcomes and manage regulatory risk.

The role covers disciplinary and grievance handling, investigations, workforce change, and governance development, with responsibility for guiding managers, building regional policies, and driving ER process improvements and colleague experience.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified with 10–15 years ER experience across APAC
• Strong knowledge of employment law in financial services
• Understanding of employment legislation and APAC cultures
• Experience managing end-to-end ER cases including investigations
• Ability to assess risks and drive ER resolutions
• Counselling, coaching, conflict-resolution and advisory skills
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills
• Clear written and verbal communication with client-focused guidance

Responsibilities

• Act as regional ER expert for Asia Pacific, aligning ER strategies with direction and vision
• Develop, implement and maintain ER policies, guidelines and governance
• Benchmark ER practices and advise on country/regional/global policies and regulations
• Provide guidance to HR teams, managers and employees on complex ER matters
• Manage end-to-end ER cases including complaints, grievances and disciplinary matters
• Deliver ER training and ER metrics to stakeholders and leadership
