Job summary

A leading electrical engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Procurement Specialist to handle material and equipment orders. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in procurement in the construction or electrical industry and strong negotiation skills. Duties include processing orders, coordinating invoices, and ensuring timely delivery. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and effective communication in English is essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in purchasing or procurement in the construction or electrical industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; Mandarin-speaking is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Process material and equipment orders based on project and site requirements.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment terms with suppliers.
  • Issue and update the monthly stock balance report.
  • Coordinate with the Account and Admin teams for invoice processing.
  • Conduct site visits as necessary.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Process material and equipment orders based on project and site requirements.
  • Source and request quotations from suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate prices, delivery terms, and payment terms to achieve the best value.
  • Review and verify material requisitions from the project/site team.
  • Check and monitor ground stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Issue and update the monthly stock balance report to monitor inventory levels.
  • Issue purchase orders and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely arrival.
  • Maintain and update purchasing records, supplier databases, and pricing information.
  • Assist in sourcing alternative suppliers or materials when necessary.
  • Site visits are required only when necessary to check materials, deliveries, or coordinate with site teams.
  • Coordinate with the Account and Admin teams for processing invoices and necessary documentation.
Requirements
  • Diploma or relevant certification preferred (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Electrical Engineering).
  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant working experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction or electrical industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Meticulous, organized, and able to work independently under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (Mandarin-speaking would be an advantage to liaise with suppliers).
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites when required.
