Job summary

SBM Group in Singapore is looking for an accounting professional to manage daily operations, including data entry, GL, AP/AR, invoicing, and bank reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries.

You will lead the team through monthly closings, monitor cash flow, and ensure GST compliance and accurate project costing for vessels and work orders.

Qualifications

• Candidate must have a Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GST.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including data entry, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, and receipts for subsidiaries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow transactions.
• Lead the team in monthly closing of accounts, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Manage project costing by tracking expenses related to vessels, jobs, and work orders.
• Maintain proper documentation for vendor invoices, purchase orders, and delivery orders.
• Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare GST reporting and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist auditors during audits by preparing schedules and supporting documents.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GST
• Experience with accounting software (MYOB, SAP, or similar systems is an advantage)
• Proficient in intermediate Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
• Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to meet deadlines
• Assertive, authoritative leader with a proven ability to drive team performance
• Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and efficiency
• Good communication and coordination skills
