Job summary

SBM Group in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support daily operations across subsidiaries, focusing on accuracy and compliance.

The role involves GST reporting, invoicing, bank reconciliations, month-end closing, and inter-company transactions, with opportunities to contribute to project costing and process improvements.

Candidates should have a diploma or degree in accountancy and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and GST.
• Experience with MYOB or SAP is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily accounting operations including data entry, general ledger, accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, and receipts for subsidiaries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow transactions.
• Assist in monthly closing of accounts, schedules, and reconciliations.
• Support project costing by tracking expenses related to vessels, jobs, and work orders.
• Maintain proper documentation for vendor invoices, purchase orders, and delivery orders.
• Assist in inter-company transactions and reconciliations.
• Prepare GST reporting and ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Assist auditors during audits by preparing schedules and supporting documents.
• Other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or equivalent

• Experience with accounting software (MYOB, SAP, or similar systems is an advantage)
• Proficient in intermediate Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications
