As a Trade Assistant, you will play an important role in the daily commercial work of the Trade team. You will prepare quotations, handle rate requests, support pricing activities and assist with customer-related commercial requests. Working closely with colleagues across the organization, you will help deliver competitive and timely offers while supporting the development of new business opportunities.

About the role

Your day-to-day work will combine pricing, tender management, market analysis and customer-related activities. You will manage requests and commercial challenges for your assigned trades and work together with colleagues across the organization to find solutions and create business opportunities.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Managing pricing requests, quotations and tenders, ensuring timely and competitive responses to customers.

  • Building strong market and customer knowledge to identify commercial opportunities and support profitable growth.

  • Working closely with Trade Managers and other departments to resolve commercial and operational challenges.

  • Supporting Trade Managers with business plans, analysis, reporting and commercial follow-up.

  • Managing relevant customer contracts, rates and trade-related information, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data.

Are you our next colleague?

Trade Management is a dynamic environment where priorities can change quickly and decisions often need to be made at a fast pace. We are therefore looking for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, working with both numbers and people, and finding solutions together with others.

To succeed in the role, we believe you have:

  • 2–3 years of experience within the shipping industry, preferably in a commercial role involving trade, pricing, sales or customer service.

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.

  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to take ownership and drive issues forward.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written, including the ability to negotiate in both languages.

  • A university degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is considered an advantage.
