About the Role
Data Centers have been driving significant growth across the digital infrastructure segment in recent years. Schneider Electric delivers end‑to‑end data center solutions across power, cooling, digital, and sustainability domains, supporting customers throughout the full data center lifecycle — from concept and design to deployment and operation. As a Solution Consultant, you will support opportunities of medium to high technical and commercial complexity, primarily in the early selling and solution shaping phases. You will work closely with Sales, Opportunity Leaders, and Solution Architects to help customers understand how Schneider Electric’s data center solutions can address their business, technical, and operational requirements. Your role is to act as a trusted technical and commercial advisor, translating customer needs and constraints into credible, high‑level solution concepts and differentiated value propositions, while ensuring alignment with Schneider Electric’s validated architectures and portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of customer business drivers, operational constraints, and decision criteria within the data center segment.
- Support early opportunity phases by shaping solution concepts across Schneider Electric’s data center portfolio, including power, cooling, digital systems, and sustainability solutions.
- Work closely with the Sales organization and Opportunity Leaders to position differentiated, value‑based solutions leveraging Schneider Electric’s cross‑domain offer.
- Use and adapt Tested, Validated & Documented Architectures (TVDA) to propose high‑level solution approaches that meet customer requirements.
- Support the review of customer RFQs and help identify compliance aspects, deviations, assumptions, and constraints in close collaboration with Solution Architects.
- Help translate customer requirements into feasible solution options, without owning detailed engineering or final technical design.
- Explain and demonstrate the technical and business benefits of proposed solutions to customers, including resilience, scalability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and speed‑to‑market.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Sales, Solution Architects, Business Units, Application Centers) to ensure solution coherence and consistency during the tendering phase.
- Support customer meetings, workshops, and presentations as a solution and portfolio expert.
- Maintain awareness of technology trends and data center market developments to continuously enhance solution positioning.
- Promote collaboration and effective communication among all stakeholders involved in an opportunity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the Data Center industry, including exposure to secure power systems, cooling solutions, electrical and mechanical installations.
- Experience in customer‑facing or pre‑sales roles is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of Schneider Electric offers such as Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), low‑voltage electrical panels, medium‑voltage equipment, and cooling systems.
- Strong understanding of data center design principles, including resilience, redundancy, and availability concepts; familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier I–IV design philosophies and their practical implications.
- Experience with or strong interest in Building Information Modelling (BIM) and tools such as Revit, with the ability to interpret layouts, spatial constraints, and system interfaces.
- Structured, results‑oriented, and proactive mindset.
- Ability to influence and build credibility with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in cross‑functional and multicultural environments.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal); fluent English required.
