Job summary

PinMeTo AB in Malmö is seeking an experienced Interim Head of Design to elevate our product design across cross-functional trios. You will influence how problem definition leads to development-ready design and work with the design team to improve efficiency while preserving quality.

Lead and shape the design operations at PinMeTo!

PinMeTo helps global brands with multiple physical locations stay findable and correct wherever people search, on Google, Apple, Facebook, Bing, and AI assistants. Our customers manage their location data, reviews, and local posts from one place.

Design is core to how we build our product, and we want it led by someone who does design. Today, our product design team sits in cross-functional trios with a Product Manager and a Tech Lead. Design leadership decisions currently rest with our Chief Product Officer (who is not a designer), and that is the exact gap we are closing.

We are looking for an experienced Interim Head of Design to take product design at PinMeTo to the next level.

What You Will Do

• First 2 Weeks: Get to know our team and understand how product work moves through our trios, from problem definition to development-ready design.
• Deliver Recommendations: Provide a written proposal on how we can work faster without giving up the design quality we have today. This includes evaluating how we brief, decide, and hand off work.
• Execute & Implement: Work closely with designers to implement agreed changes.
• Day-to-Day Leadership: Conduct lead design reviews, and make the day-to-day design calls (responsibility stays with the CPO)

Who You Are

• Product Design Leader: You have at least 8 years of experience in product design, with 4+ years leading and managing product designers.
• B2B SaaS Experience: You have led design in B2B SaaS environment with cross-functional teams.
• You have done this before: You have looked at how work flows through a product team, found where the time goes, and changed it. You know the picture is tangled and that two weeks will not give you all of it, so you pick the few changes that matter most, act on them, and adjust as you learn.
• Great Coach: Experienced in coaching senior designers through constructive feedback.
• Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Business leader: Design is a big part of how our business performs, and you lead it that way. You can tie design work to what the company is trying to achieve and argue for it in those terms with the CPO, the product managers and the rest of the leadership, not only on craft.

Bonus points for

• Experience with enterprise customers (multi-location products).
• Hands-on knowledge of accessibility (WCAG) for public-facing web products (like Store Locators and Local Pages).
• Leadership-level skills in Figma (component libraries, design systems) to evaluate efficiency and best practices.
• Background in previous interim roles, fast-paced environments, or recruiting product designers.

Practicalities & assignment details

• Scope & Hours: Part-time, capped at 240 hours total (~60% in month 1, ~40% in months 2–3).
• Duration: 3 months, with an option to extend.
• Location: Malmö HQ (at least 2 days a week on-site).
• Reports to: CPO.
