Simployer is seeking a Head of Design to own the design for Simployer One and Knowledge, two products used by HR teams across the Nordics. You will shape how the product feels, improve workflows, and reduce effort for customers.
In this player-coach role you’ll lead design, design ops, and AI-enabled work, while still doing hands-on design and mentoring the team. Fluency in English and a base in Stockholm or Oslo are a must.
Every day, HR professionals across the Nordics use Simployer One to sort contracts, documents and all the admin tasks that keep a company running. When that work feels easy, their whole week gets better. We want to be the product they'd pick again without thinking twice.
At Simployer, we make work-life simpler for both employees and employers. We're building an AI-first company, and design sits right at the centre of that. A new design system is rolling out across the product right now, so there's a lot to shape from day one.
Now we're looking for someone who gets excited by questions like:
As Head of Design, you'll own design for two of our products. Simployer One, our HR platform. HR admins across the Nordics use it every day to get their work done. And Knowledge which is where they go when they need HR guidance and answers from our experts.
This is a player-coach role, and it comes in three parts.
You'll own end-to-end design for Simployer One and Knowledge. You'll be hands-on with the highest-impact problems: the heavy admin tasks HR teams handle every week, and the flows full of roles and permissions. The goal is to cut customer effort, so tasks get done faster and with fewer clicks.
You'll set how the team works day to day, through research cadence, critique, handoff and quality gates. You'll raise the bar for what a designer at Simployer is expected to do. We've already started rolling out new ways of working, and you'll be the one to make them stick.
You will lead the team into agent-first design. We've set up a prototype lab, and every designer builds in code on the problem they've chosen to tackle. What we don't have yet are proper design workflows for AI. You'll decide what good looks like, how we evaluate AI output, and where the line sits between what designers own and what agents do.
We're not big on long checklists. There are just a few things you'll need: a portfolio that shows your own recent work, fluent English, and a base in Stockholm or Oslo. Strong recent design work matters more to us than a perfect CV.
Hi, I'm Nima, CPO at Simployer. I've been an entrepreneur most of my career, so I like it when things move. Right now we're figuring out how to design HR software where AI agents actually do work for our customers. Nobody really knows how to do that well yet, which is what makes it fun. I'm looking for a design leader who still designs, not just reviews other people's work, and brings the team along. If you like questioning how things are done and love seeing stuff ship, ping me!
