Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Training & Competence Specialist to shape how HSE capabilities are built across our HVDC organization.

The role combines training, safety, and continuous improvement to impact people and performance while collaborating with leaders, HSE experts, and the HVDC Academy to strengthen competence and safety culture. You will connect stakeholders, align training initiatives, and drive development activities, influencing how learning

Qualifications

• Experience in HSE within construction, industrial, manufacturing, or similar operations.
• Strong communication and ability to influence stakeholders across different functions.
• Fluency in English is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging HSE training programs using learning methods (e-learning, classroom, demonstrations).
• Identify competence gaps and drive HSE capability development across the organization.
• Establish and maintain an HSE competence assurance program with managers, HSE teams, and stakeholders.
• Integrate competence requirements into roles, processes and day-to-day operations.
• Enhance training content and methods in line with legislation and best practices.
• Evaluate training effectiveness, maintain records, and support incident investigations.
