Job summary

Frey Recruitment seeks an experienced Sole Engineer to join a 46m private sailing yacht on a 2:2 rotation. The yacht is currently in Spain, with the position starting on 30 September in the South of France.

You will lead the engineering department during your onboard period, performing maintenance, fault-finding and project management. We require hands-on, adaptable professionals with STCW ENG1, B1/B2 visa, driving licence and fluent English.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sole Engineer to join a 46m private sailing yacht on a 2:2 job-share arrangement.

The yacht is currently in Spain, with the position starting on 30 September in the South of France. It is a world cruising programme with sociable owners who enjoy including the crew in their experiences.

The Engineer will take sole responsibility for the engineering department during their time onboard. We are looking for someone hands-on, adaptable and confident with maintenance, fault-finding and problem-solving. They should also be comfortable managing contractors and technical projects.

This is a small, collaborative crew, so flexibility and interdepartmental support are essential.

Requirements:

• Previous Sole Engineer experience on a similar-sized sailing yacht

• MEOL, AEC or Y4/Y3 beneficial

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills

• Hands-on and confident with fault-finding

• STCW and valid ENG1

• B1/B2 visa

• Full driving licence

• Fluent English

• Non-smoker and clean living

• Minimal visible tattoos
