Qualifications

Job description

We are currently seeking a Deck/Engineer to join a 45m SY. This is a private, dual season program with established owners.

The role will be split between the deck and engineering, but requires someone wiling and keen to help on the interior with stew duties on guest trips. This role is guest on 90/80% interior and guest off is 50/50 deck/eng.

This is a hands-on dual role for someone who enjoys working on deck and developing their engineering skills, while also being comfortable supporting the interior with guest service. It would particularly suit a candidate working towards a Second Engineer qualification, with 50% engineering sea time available in the role.

The winter will be spent in the Caribbean, which will include 2 regattas and summer will either be East coast USA or the Baltic/UK. Female candidates preferred.

A female candidate is preferred due to the shared cabin arrangement.

Requirements

• Experience as a deck/stew on sailing vessels is preferred.
• Sailing experience is essential.
• Confident with general interior and deck duties
• An engineering background is advantageous.
• Strong work ethic, positive attitude and great team player are of importance.
• Fluent in English
• Non-smoker
• B1 Visa is preferred.
• Schengen visa and Seamans Discharge Book for non-EU passport holders.
