Wood is currently seeking a Surveyor Plant/ Quantity surveyor to support our projects business. The role involves contributing to the development of a new gold mine and processing facility at a remote site in Saudi Arabia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Typical responsibilities:
  • Preparation of survey equipment and software.
  • Preparation and development Preambles and Schedules of Rates, including input to Contract Payment terms and conditions, commensurate with client's requirements.
  • Execution and assistance with survey and positioning equipment calibrations.
  • Ensure all survey data is of the required standard and in accordance with Customer specification and procedures.
  • Technical monitoring of survey operations including ensuring the appropriate system calibrations are in use.
  • Prepare / verify Bills of Quantities and scope of work
  • Assess and handle claim, variation and extra work
  • Assist in contract close - out and final account settlement
  • Provide reasoned advice and forecasts on costs including conducting Contractor and Company audits.
  • Establish validity, negotiate and agree value of Variation Requests and Claims received from Contractor.
  • Calculation and computation of survey results
  • Understanding and review of project procedures and survey and inspection requirements
  • Boundary surveys to locate the corners and boundary lines of a parcel of land. Conduct both record and field research, including any measurements and computations needed to set the boundary
  • Lines in accordance with applicable laws and locating easement lines and encroachments.
  • Location surveys to provide information on the location of interior improvements to fulfil the requirements of a zoning permit
  • Site planning surveys for development permit applications, combining boundary and topographic
  • surveys to plan design improvements and developments before construction begins.
  • Construction surveys including staking out walls, buildings, roads, and utilities to provide
  • Construction personnel with directions for implementing the development plans.
  • Sub-division / partition surveys for planning of infrastructure projects
