Job summary
Excis is seeking an experienced Windows Team Lead to provide technical leadership and operational oversight for enterprise Windows Server infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. The role serves as a senior escalation point for complex incidents, changes, security remediation, and guidance for Windows engineers.
The ideal candidate will have advanced experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, VMware/VCF, PowerShell, backup and disaster recovery, patch management, and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience supporting enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
- Strong experience with VMware and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
- Strong PowerShell and infrastructure automation skills.
- Extensive troubleshooting experience across hardware, software, systems, and networks.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with Exchange, Citrix, SCCM, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with patch management, security remediation, and VA/CR findings.
- Experience supporting critical enterprise production environments.
- Strong incident management, RCA, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness and ability to work in a shift-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead the administration, availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Establish Windows administration standards, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to L1/L2 Windows engineers.
- Review configurations, upgrades, maintenance activities, and technical implementation plans.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex and critical infrastructure issues.
- Identify infrastructure risks and recommend improvements.
- Lead support and troubleshooting for enterprise Active Directory and Group Policy environments.
- Resolve complex authentication, domain, policy, DNS, and DHCP issues.
- Review access controls, DNS/DHCP configurations, and service reliability.
- Support infrastructure changes and improvements involving directory and network services.
- Provide technical leadership for VMware and VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.
- Support Windows integration with virtualized infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot virtualization, capacity, and performance issues.
- Lead PowerShell scripting and automation for administration, monitoring, reporting, and remediation.
- Establish scripting standards and review automation solutions.
- Provide Windows infrastructure support for Exchange, Citrix, and SCCM.
- Lead troubleshooting of application and infrastructure integration issues.
- Coordinate with application and infrastructure teams during incidents, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Provide technical oversight for backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Support recovery planning, testing, and business continuity activities.
- Lead Windows Server patch management and security vulnerability remediation.
- Coordinate the closure of VA/CR findings and support security compliance.
- Review system security configurations, access controls, and remediation activities.
- Lead the resolution of P1/P2 incidents and complex technical escalations.
- Coordinate technical teams during major incidents and provide stakeholder updates.
- Conduct and review Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive actions.
- Lead Windows Server upgrades, migrations, patching, and infrastructure changes.
- Ensure approved change-management procedures, post-change validation, and production stability.
- Review incident trends and recommend continuous improvements.
- Oversee monitoring, performance analysis, capacity management, and alerting for Windows infrastructure.
- Identify recurring performance and availability issues.
- Maintain accurate architecture, configuration, troubleshooting, operational, and RCA documentation.
- Develop technical guides and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in shift-based support, scheduled maintenance, after-hours activities, and effective shift handovers.
