Job summary

JAL International is seeking a Valve Repair Specialist to join its Mechanical Services Shops. The role focuses on inspection, repair, reconditioning, testing, and performance improvement of industrial valves, with strategy development and quality compliance.

The candidate will have a Bachelor's in Mechanical or related field and at least 15 years of valve/pressure equipment experience, including 10 years in complex repair and testing, with expertise across gate, globe, check, ball, and actuator

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of valve, pressure-equipment, or mechanical-repair experience.
• Minimum 10 years in complex industrial valve repair and testing.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineering from a recognized program.

Responsibilities

• Repair Strategy: establish inspection, repair, replacement, upgrade, and test scope based on valve type, service, damage, and code requirements.
• Complex Troubleshooting: diagnose leakage, packing leakage, galling, erosion, cavitation, corrosion, distortion, actuator issues, and recurring failures.
• Procedure Development: approve disassembly, dimensional inspection, machining, lapping, welding, heat-treatment, assembly, torque, setting, and acceptance criteria.
• Testing & Certification: define shell, seat, backseat, closure, fugitive-emission, torque, stroke, and functional tests; certify results against standards.
• Technical Governance: control deviations, substitutions, support RCAs, standardize repair practices, mentor personnel, and suggest design/service improvements.

We are seeking a Valve Repair Specialist to join ourMechanical Services Shops. Mechanical Services Shops is responsible forproviding rotating and static equipment repair and fabrication of components.

Your primary role is to provide technical and on-handsupport for inspection, repair, reconditioning, testing, and performanceimprovement of industrial valves. You will determine repair strategy, resolvecomplex leakage or operability problems, approve procedures, and ensurerepaired valves meet standard, service, and reliability requirements.

• You will hold a Bachelor'sdegree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing Engineeringfrom a recognized and approved program.
• You will have at least 15years of valve, pressure-equipment, or mechanical-repair experience, includinga minimum of 10 years in complex industrial valve repair and testing.
• Expertise across gate,globe, check, ball, butterfly, and other applicable valve types such as safetyrelief valves is required. Moreover, expertise in trim designs, packingsystems, actuators, and pressure classes is required.
• Strong knowledge of valvemetallurgy, hard-facing, machining, lapping, welding repair, dimensionalinspection, pressure testing, and leakage diagnosis is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability todevelop repair procedures, troubleshoot repeat failures, assess deviations, andoptimize valve performance is required.
• API valve training andrecognized OEM repair, actuator, or diagnostic training are strongly preferred.

• Testing & Certification: Define shell, seat, backseat, closure, fugitive-emission, torque, stroke, and functional tests; review calibrated data and certify results against applicable standards.
• Technical Governance: Control deviations and material substitutions, support RCAs, standardize repair practices, mentor personnel, and recommend design or service improvements.
