Job summary

Parsons is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer for major highways and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, KSA. You will work within a PMO framework, reviewing traffic signal designs and coordinating with surveyors and roadway designers to ensure successful delivery.

The role requires extensive experience, CAD proficiency, and knowledge of traffic analysis tools. You will help develop plans, conduct studies, and guide teams to enhance safety and transportation operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with traffic signal/plan design and ITS concepts.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and traffic analysis software.

Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Traffic Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to work within a new PMO working on major highways / infrastructure projects in the KSA Capital, Riyadh City.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Undertaking / reviewing traffic signal, junction, temporary works and other associated traffic engineering designs ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assisting in developing and managing the scope of each traffic engineering design task, creating the schedule, and establishing budgets. This includes monitoring project progress and resource allocation to ensure successful completion.
• Preparing traffic engineering plans, which could involve signal designs, signing and marking designs, conceptual designs for intersections, or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
• Coordinate with various subject matter experts, such as surveyors and roadway designers to ensure the successful delivery of projects. This involves facilitating collaboration, providing guidance, and integrating their expertise into traffic signal and traffic control plans.
• Conduct and document traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practices. This involves using various analytical tools and methodologies to evaluate traffic patterns, assess safety measures, and recommend improvements.
• Developing technical approaches for traffic engineering projects and review technical results prepared by others. This includes providing guidance and ensuring adherence to quality standards and best practices.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of traffic engineering projects, promoting safety, and enhancing transportation operations.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• 10+ years of related work experience.
• Experience/familiarity with Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads, and/or Projectwise
• Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including HCS, Transmodeler, Synchro/SimTraffic
• Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, OMUTCD, MUTCD, ODOT TEM, AASHTO, and ODOT L&D requirements
• Experience in developing traffic engineering design plans
• Experience in traffic management design and planning
• Experience in one or more of the following areas: ODOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, or intersection conceptual drafting
• Experience in reviewing third party designs and coordinating comments for approval
• Experience of working within a multi-discipline team environment
• Proactive approach to own activities and helping in PMO overall efficiency.
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
