Job summary

Wood is seeking a Piping Engineer to support our Projects business. The project site is located approximately 150 km from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities include piping design, plant layout, piping stress concepts, and coordinating with the Project Manager. Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, at least 5 years of piping experience, and Aramco project exposure. Proficiency with SP3D/Navisworks is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of piping engineering experience.
  • Experience with Saudi Aramco projects.
  • Experience in 3D model review sessions.
  • Strong piping standards and specifications knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Piping design and plant layout development for projects.
  • Originate and revise engineering deliverables.
  • Update deliverables per procedures and checklists.
  • Supervise junior engineers and coordinate with PM.
  • Visit sites for verification and as-built activities.
  • Ensure deliverables meet quality and record-keeping requirements.

Job Overview

Wood is currently seeking a Piping Engineer to support our Projects business. The project site is located approximately 150 km from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for piping design, plant layout, piping stress concepts and general requirements from construction, maintenance, and operability point of view.
  • Originate new and revise existing engineering deliverables.
  • Revise and check engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists.
  • Supervise engineering work being produced by juniors.
  • Conduct and receive trainings related to the job as required.
  • Plan and complete work within allocated man‑hours effectively and avoid slippage.
  • Interface, coordinate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other team members.
  • Delegate and distribute work as well as manage billability of the team.
  • Coordinate with all disciplines (as necessary) in the preparation and development of the deliverables and ensure that other disciplines’ input is incorporated.
  • Visit the site to verify conditions, markup drawings and perform as‑built activities.
  • Manage deliverables submission with required quality checks and proper record management.
  • Write technical reports and prepare presentations.
  • Maintain full knowledge of Aramco standards.
  • Review vendor documents and manage subcontract scope.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in piping engineering.
  • Experience with Saudi Aramco projects.
  • Experience conducting and participating in 3D Model Review Sessions.
  • Strong understanding of piping engineering standards, specifications, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), Navisworks and/or SmartPlant Review (SPR).
  • Experience in oil and gas, hydrocarbon refinery, offshore, mining or infrastructure industries with engineering design project experience.
