Functional Description
The Teaching Assistant in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Unit will primarily be responsible for managing AI-related laboratory sessions, supporting faculty in research projects, and assisting in teaching-related activities. This role is essential in ensuring the effective delivery of AI courses and fostering a hands‑on learning environment for students.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain, and oversee AI lab equipment, software, and resources.
- Conduct and supervise practical lab sessions, ensuring students effectively apply theoretical AI concepts.
- Assist students in debugging and troubleshooting AI-related coding issues and machine learning model implementation.
- Ensure the smooth operation of AI tools, frameworks, and computational resources.
- Assist faculty members in preparing course materials, assignments, and projects.
- Provide guidance to students in understanding AI concepts and applications.
- Conduct tutorial sessions or supplementary instruction when needed.
- Grade assignments, projects, and quizzes under faculty supervision.
- Assist faculty and students in AI-related research projects.
- Conduct literature reviews and help with data collection and analysis.
- Assist the preparation of research papers, presentations, and reports.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
- Maintain records of lab activities and student performance in practical sessions.
- Ensure compliance with university policies and safety protocols within the lab.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.
Required Education, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence.
- Strong knowledge of AI, machine learning, deep learning, and related programming languages (Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Experience in conducting lab sessions and working with AI tools and frameworks.
- Research experience in AI-related projects is a plus.
- Prior teaching or tutoring experience is preferred.
- Excellent command of English language (spoken and written).
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- High professional ethics.
