Job summary

International Maritime Industries in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced electrical supervisor for CRPO projects. You will oversee electrical works, ensuring safety, quality and timeliness across shipyard assignments in an offshore context.

The role requires direct installation of switchboards, MCCs, cables and related systems, with emphasis on troubleshooting, testing and adherence to HSES policies. Arabic language skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Technical Engineering Diploma/Qualification or higher.
• TBOSIET and H2S preferred.
• Confined space training.
• Prior ship repair/shipyard experience required.
• Communicates effectively, works independently or in a group.
• Troubleshooting electrical equipment.
• Cable – identification, size requirements and ampacity limits.
• Fabrication and installation of packing tubes, multiple cable transits, collars, conduit, and raceways.

Responsibilities

• Oversee electrical works for CRPO Projects, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence.
• Install electrical equipment such as switchboards, distribution panels, motors, generators, navigation, communication, fire detection systems, circuit breakers and transformers.
• Install power and control cables, termination, cable trays, glanding, cable dressing and continuity checking.
• Install MCC, MCT and junction boxes; install conduits to bulkheads with brackets and screws.
• Strip insulation from wire ends and solder terminations; connect power-supply circuits to equipment.
• Test electrical characteristics using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and circuits; perform maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct insulation resistance measurements to determine condition and necessary actions.

Description

JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE

Overall responsible for Electrical works for CRPO Projects. Also ensures that all assigned projects work is executed safely, on time, and within budget in accordance with the contract and IMI's Management System.

Key Accountabilities

• Full knowledge, understanding and endorsement of all IMI HSES policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and certification requirements.
• Installation of Electrical Equipment such as Switch board, Distribution Panels, Motors, Generators, Navigation, System, Communication System, Fire Detection System, circuit Breakers and transformers.
• Installation of Power and control Cables, termination, Cable tray ladders, Cable glanding, Cable dressing & Cable continuity checking.
• Installation of MCC, Multi cable transit (MCT) & Junction Boxes.
• Installs conduit to bulkheads with brackets and screws, using hand tools, and threads wires through conduit to terminals, for example connection boxes, circuit breakers, voltage regulators, and switch panels.
• Strips insulation from wire ends and solders ends to terminals, using stripping pliers and soldering iron. Connects power-supply circuits to radio, radar, sonar, fire control, and other electronic equipment.
• Tests electrical characteristics, for example, voltage, resistance, and phase angle, in circuits, using voltmeters, ohmmeters, and phase rotation indicators.
• Troubleshoots electrical equipment and circuits using appropriate test equipment to detect and effect required maintenance, repairs, or replacement requirements.
• Performs maintenance and repair of generators, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, electrical motors, distribution panels, alarm and lighting circuits.
• Conducts insulation resistance measurements of electrical cables to determine condition and effects repairs or replacements as required

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education

• Technical Engineering Diploma/Qualification, or higher. Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
• TBOSIET and H2S preferred.

• For bachelor's holders at least 9-15, for diploma holders at least 15+ years of experience in ship / fabrication yards and preferably involved in offshore construction activities.
• Experienced in handling offshore related projects which are of high value and with technical complexities.

Languages

• Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
