Job summary

Abunayyan Holding is seeking an experienced landscape supervisor for a project site in Riyadh. You will direct foremen and planting teams to deliver planting, softscape and hardscape in line with approved drawings and programme.

Candidates should have a Diploma in horticulture, landscape or agriculture and a minimum of six years' landscape execution experience, including two years supervising teams on site.

Qualifications

• Diploma in horticulture, landscape or agriculture from a recognized institute.
• Minimum 6 years' landscape execution experience, including at least 2 years supervising landscape teams on project sites.
• Ability to read landscape drawings and translate them into setting out and work instructions for foremen.

Responsibilities

• Plan weekly and daily landscape activities on the site against the project programme.
• Read landscape drawings and translate them into setting out and work instructions for foremen.
• Coordinate sequence of landscape works with irrigation, civil and utility activities.
• Supervise setting out, pit preparation and planting of trees, shrubs and ground covers.
• Verify plant material received on site against specifications before planting.
• Monitor watering, staking and protection of newly planted material through establishment.
• Oversee soil preparation, mulching and turf installation.
• Supervise installation of site furniture, edging and hardscape elements.
• Verify levels, alignment and finish against drawings before inspection.
• Estimate and request plants, soil, mulch and materials required.
• Control consumption and reduce wastage of landscape materials.
• Allocate manpower and account for tools and equipment issued.
• Enforce PPE use and chemical handling rules.
• Apply summer working arrangements including midday rest areas and hydration.
• Report daily progress, manpower and site issues to Project Manager.

Job description

Supervises the landscape works on the assigned project site, directing the landscape foremen and the planting teams so that the planting, softscape and hardscape are delivered to the approved drawings, the programme and the maintenance standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan the weekly and daily landscape activities on the assigned site against the project programme.
• Read the landscape drawings and translate them into setting out and work instructions for the foremen.
• Coordinate the sequence of the landscape works with the irrigation, civil and utility activities.
• Supervise the setting out, the pit preparation and the planting of trees, shrubs and ground covers.
• Verify the plant material received on site against the specification before planting.
• Monitor the watering, the staking and the protection of the newly planted material through establishment.
• Supervise the soil preparation, the mulching and the turf installation.
• Supervise the installation of the site furniture, the edging and the hardscape elements.
• Verify the levels, the alignment and the finish against the approved drawings before inspection.
• Estimate and request the plants, soil, mulch and materials required for the planned works.
• Control the consumption and reduce the wastage of the landscape materials on site.
• Allocate the manpower and account for the tools and the equipment issued to the landscape teams.
• Enforce the use of the personal protective equipment and the chemical handling rules.
• Apply the summer working arrangements including the midday work ban, the shaded rest areas and the hydration provision.
• Report the daily progress, the manpower and the site issues to the Project Manager.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 6 years' landscape execution experience, including at least 2 years supervising landscape teams on project sites.
• Diploma in horticulture, landscape or agriculture from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation or an accredited institute.

Job Specific Technical Skills:

• Reading landscape drawings, planting plans and details.
