Job summary

Alstom in Riyadh is seeking a Services Director - GCC to lead nationwide service projects, drive governance and financial performance, and foster a high-performance culture across Operations & Maintenance teams.

In this role you will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Finance, and HR to shape Saudi Arabia's sustainable transport future while mentoring senior directors and expanding strategic partnerships.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience in railway or urban mobility services.
• Strong operational background in railway or metro operations.
• Proven experience leading large-scale Operations & Maintenance organizations.
• Experience managing complex multi-project service portfolios with full P&L accountability.
• Knowledge of the GCC and/or Saudi Arabia market (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Master’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead all service projects across Saudi Arabia, including Metro Operations, Railway System Maintenance, and Transit System Services.
• Ensure safe, reliable, and efficient project execution aligned with contractual commitments and customer expectations.
• Drive operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement across projects.
• Own the Services portfolio’s P&L performance and ensure financial transparency and cost control.
• Build trusted relationships with clients, authorities, and stakeholders across Saudi Arabia’s transport ecosystem.
• Mentor and develop project directors and leadership teams, fostering a high-performance culture.

Your future role

You'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of sustainable transportation in Saudi Arabia, ensuring operational excellence, financial stability, and customer satisfaction across all services. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Commercial, Finance, HR, and Business Development), oversee all service projects, drive continuous improvement, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of leading service project directors and managing operations and maintenance activities, but also contribute to strategic growth initiatives and long‑term partnerships.

We’ll look to you for:

Leading all service projects across Saudi Arabia, including Metro Operations, Railway System Maintenance, and Transit System Services.

Ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient project execution aligned with contractual commitments and customer expectations.

Driving operational excellence, governance, and continuous improvement across projects.

Owning the Services portfolio’s P&L performance and ensuring financial transparency and cost control.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Transportation, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).

20+ years of experience in railway or urban mobility services.

Strong operational background in railway or metro operations.

Proven experience leading large-scale Operations & Maintenance organizations.

Experience managing complex multi-project service portfolios with full P&L accountability.

Knowledge of the GCC and/or Saudi Arabia market (preferred).

Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

Experience supporting bids, mobilization, and strategic growth initiatives.
