Job summary
AtkinsR alis is hiring a Roads Inspector to monitor and inspect all phases of road construction, ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, materials and safety procedures. The role includes inspecting excavation, grading, subgrade, base layers and asphalt, and verifying materials against test results.
You will prepare inspection reports, participate in joint inspections with contractors and clients, and ensure correct implementation of ITPs and QA/QC requirements, maintaining
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (education requirements).
- Minimum 10 years relevant experience in road inspection.
- Strong understanding of road construction materials and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Inspect road construction works including excavation, grading, subgrade, GSB, sub base, basecourse and asphalt layers.
- Verify compliance with material specifications and test results for soils, aggregates and asphalt.
- Inspect drainage systems, kerbs, duct banks, utility crossings and manholes.
- Monitor traffic management setups and detours to ensure road user safety.
- Prepare inspection reports, NCRs and follow up on corrective actions.
- Participate in joint inspections with contractors, consultants and clients.
- Ensure proper implementation of ITPs and QA/QC requirements.
- Verify workmanship quality and safety in active road zones.
