Job summary

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Resident Engineer (Client’s Representative) for Ras Al Khair, Jubail area in Saudi Arabia. You will lead construction activities, manage contractor interfaces, and ensure contractual compliance across multiple concurrent contracts.

You will supervise engineers, review submittals, and report progress to the Client and Bechtel management. This role requires strong leadership, English communication, and extensive field experience.

Qualifications

• University degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10–13 years of relevant experience in building construction; 14–17 years total experience.
• Experience with roads, bridges and site development.
• Strong knowledge of cost, scheduling and contractual obligations.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor construction progress to ensure milestones are met and guide adjustments.
• Evaluate contractor schedules and time-extension requests; coordinate with planning engineers.
• Resolve design clarifications and site conditions to facilitate progress.
• Review design change notices and negotiate Change orders and prices.
• Ensure contractor quality, safety programs and adherence to procedures.
• Lead weekly/bi-weekly progress meetings and issue meeting minutes.
• Provide reports and presentations to upper management and Client.
• Review drawings and specs for new contracts; participate in pre-bid and kick-off meetings.
• Supervise junior engineers; manage interfaces between disciplines.
