Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer / Planner to deliver major infrastructure, transport, buildings and land development projects in Saudi Arabia. About the role

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Project Controls Engineer / Planner to support the successful delivery of major infrastructure, transport, buildings, and land development projects across Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project programmes, implementing project controls processes, and providing accurate performance reporting to support effective project delivery. Working closely with Project Managers, Project Directors, Design Managers and multidisciplinary technical teams, you will ensure projects are effectively planned, monitored and controlled throughout the project lifecycle. This role is ideal for a project controls professional experience who can provide clear programme and performance insights while supporting both project delivery and bid activities.

Key responsibilities and duties are listed, but not limited to, the below:

• Develop, maintain and monitor project programmes using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Establish and manage Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), programme baselines and reporting frameworks.
• Coordinate programme development with project managers, design managers and technical discipline leads.
• Monitor project progress, maintain programme updates and perform critical path analysis.
• Support project forecasting, earned value management and performance measurement activities.
• Develop and maintain project controls dashboards, KPIs and management reporting.
• Administer change control processes and assess programme impacts associated with scope changes.
• Prepare project controls reports, executive summaries and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support bid planning activities, including tender programmes, resource schedules and delivery strategies.
• Promote best practice in planning, scheduling and project controls across the business.
• Support continuous improvement and digital ways of working, sharing knowledge and lessons learned.

Candidate specification

Essential

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in project planning, scheduling and project controls.
• Demonstrable expertise in Primavera P6 and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project.
• Experience developing and maintaining integrated project schedules, programme baselines and Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
• Strong understanding of planning and scheduling, project controls, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), resource planning, risk management and change management.
• Experience preparing project controls reports, dashboards, KPIs and management presentations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supporting major infrastructure, transport, buildings or land development projects, preferably within Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.

Desirable

• Professional accreditation such as APM, PMP, PMI-SP or equivalent.
• Primavera P6 Professional Certification.
• Experience using Power BI, Acumen Fuse or other digital reporting and schedule assurance platforms.
• Experience supporting major transport, rail, metro, aviation or land development programmes.
• Knowledge of FIDIC, NEC or similar forms of contract and experience in cost control and earned value reporting.
