Job summary

Almarai is seeking a Senior Packaging Technologist to lead packaging innovation across its product portfolio. You will develop, evaluate, and implement packaging solutions, ensuring successful introduction of new specifications with suppliers.

You will support NPD initiatives, act as Packaging Development Lead on promotional projects, and drive sustainability and continuous improvement in packaging technologies. Strong English communication and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging or related field is required.
• Minimum 5+ years in packaging development within FMCG/food/beverage.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design, and supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of new packaging specifications.
• Plan, execute and report packaging trials for performance and feasibility.
• Provide expertise in packaging design, materials, and functionality.
• Collaborate with NPD, Procurement, Quality, and Operations teams.
• Address packaging-related challenges including logistics constraints.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Packaging Technologist to join our team and play a key role in driving packaging innovation across Almarai’s diverse product portfolio.

In this role, you will lead the development, evaluation, and implementation of packaging solutions, ensuring successful introduction of new packaging specifications across the business and supplier network. You will also support New Product Development (NPD) initiatives and act as the Packaging Development Lead on promotional packaging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the introduction and implementation of new packaging specifications across Almarai and its suppliers
• Plan, execute, and report on packaging trials to ensure optimal performance and feasibility
• Provide technical expertise in packaging design, materials selection, and functionality
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including NPD, Procurement, Quality, and Operations
• Identify and resolve packaging-related challenges, including logistics and supply chain constraints
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation in packaging technologies and sustainability
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging, Engineering, Food Technology, or a related field
• Professional certification or diploma in Packaging Technology is preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in packaging development and implementation within FMCG, food, or beverage industry
• Strong experience in conducting and managing packaging trials
• Solid knowledge of packaging materials, design principles, and supply chain considerations
• Excellent communication skills with strong command of English (written and spoken)
• Proven track record of delivering results and managing stakeholders effectively
