Job summary

Avensys Consulting seeks an experienced DBA Admin (Oracle & MSSQL) to support mission-critical production databases. You will manage Oracle and MSSQL environments, perform tuning, backups, high availability, and DR activities.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of DBA experience in Oracle and MSSQL environments.
• Strong expertise in production support, performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability.
• Experience with disaster recovery strategies and database security.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle and MSSQL environments.
• Manage users, roles, privileges, tablespaces, datafiles, schemas, indexes, and database objects.
• Monitor and troubleshoot performance; perform SQL/query tuning and database optimization.
• Handle RMAN backups, Data Pump, and SQL Server backup/restore operations.
• Implement and support Data Guard, RAC, Always On Availability Groups, and other DR HA solutions.
• Coordinate upgrades, migrations, patching, refreshes, cloning, and environment synchronization.
• Monitor health, capacity, storage, sessions, locks, jobs, and alerts; resolve issues proactively.
• Handle production incidents, root-cause analysis, problem management, and changes per SLAs.
• Maintain security, access controls, auditing, and compliance standards.

We are seeking an experienced DBA Admin (Oracle & MSSQL) with 8+ years of hands‑on experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and production support. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in both Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server environments and be comfortable supporting mission‑critical production databases.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Perform database administration activities including users, roles, privileges, tablespaces, datafiles, schemas, indexes, and database objects.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform SQL/query and database performance tuning.
• Manage Oracle RMAN backup/recovery, Data Pump (expdp/impdp), and SQL Server backup and restore operations.
• Implement and support Oracle Data Guard, RAC, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Manage SQL Server Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, Log Shipping, and Database Mirroring.
• Perform database upgrades, migrations, patching, refreshes, cloning, and environment synchronization.
• Monitor database health, capacity, storage, sessions, locks, jobs, and alerts; proactively resolve issues.
• Handle production incidents, root‑cause analysis, problem management, and change activities in accordance with defined SLAs.
• Implement database security, access controls, auditing, and compliance standards.
• Develop and maintain database monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, development, and cloud teams to resolve database‑related issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and disaster recovery runbooks.

Required Technical Skills

Oracle:

• Oracle 11g/12c/18c/19c or higher
• RMAN, Data Pump, SQL*Loader
• RAC and Data Guard
• Performance tuning, AWR/ASH
• Tablespace, datafile, user and privilege management
• Database upgrades, patching, backup and recovery

Microsoft SQL Server:

• SQL Server 2012/2014/2016/2017/2019/2022

The candidate should have 8+ years of DBA experience, with strong hands‑on expertise in both Oracle and MSSQL, particularly in production support, performance tuning, backup/recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, upgrades, and database security. The responsibilities above align with standard Oracle DBA administration areas and commonly required Oracle/MSSQL production skills.
