Job summary

Penspen, a leading global energy services company, seeks an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer - Rotating to join our FEED project team in Al Khobar, KSA. The role focuses on leading rotating equipment engineering activities across FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases for oil and gas projects.

You will develop data sheets, specs, and vendor evaluations, review vendor documents, ensure compliance with international standards, and mentor junior engineers while supporting procurement,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in Oil & Gas.
• 8+ years in mechanical rotating equipment for major Oil & Gas / Petrochemical projects.
• Exposure to construction and commissioning phases.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead rotating equipment engineering activities for FEED, detailed design, and EPC phases.
• Develop data sheets, specifications, and requisitions for rotating equipment (compressors, pumps, turbines, blowers, packaged systems).
• Review vendor offers, perform technical bid evaluations, and participate in vendor meetings and design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant standards.
• Coordinate with process, piping, instrumentation, and electrical disciplines for equipment integration.
• Review vendor documents (GA drawings, datasheets, performance curves) and approve timely.
• Provide technical support during procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and design review workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables for quality and accuracy.
• Support client and internal audits and ensure adherence to project quality and safety standards.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 12+ Years experience within Oil & Gas Sector.
• At least 8 years within the field of Mechanical Rotating for major Oil & Gas /Petrochemical Projects.
• Previous exposure to projects at construction & commissioning phase.
• Computer Literate with MS Packages, particularly Excel proficient.
• Familiarity with Saudi Aramco standards and experience in major brownfield FEED/EPC projects will be an advantage for the candidate.
