Job summary

Mott MacDonald Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Buildings team in Riyadh. You will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical building services from concept through construction, collaborating with project managers, clients and specialists.

The role offers exposure to diverse projects across public and private sectors, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers and develop technical leadership within a leading global consultancy.

Qualifications

• Saudi Council of Engineers membership is required.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in mechanical building services design within the built environment.
• Experience in consultancy/design environments on building projects.
• Knowledge of current building regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Proficiency in mechanical engineering software and design tools.
• BIM knowledge and experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical building services designs, calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
• Deliver projects from concept through to construction stages.
• Undertake mechanical surveys and assessments of existing buildings/infrastructure.
• Produce and review drawings and engineering calculations.
• Develop sustainable and energy-efficient design solutions.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other building services disciplines.
• Support project planning and delivery within programmes and budgets.
• Attend client and design-team meetings as required.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and project requirements.
• Provide mentoring to graduate and junior engineers.
• Assist senior engineers and project managers in delivering outcomes.
