Job summary

HI-BEST in Riyadh is seeking a senior Mechanical Application Engineer with a strong background in engineering calculations, equipment selection, and technical submissions for dehumidification, solar water-heating, and heat-pump systems. This is a technical office-based role requiring independent project management and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in mechanical application engineering, HVAC design, technical presales, or equipment selection.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, psychrometrics, humidity control, ventilation, sensible and latent loads, airflow, and duct-system fundamentals.
• Proven ability to independently perform engineering calculations and select suitable equipment.
• Strong experience in reviewing mechanical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and consultant requirements.
• Proficiency in Carrier HAP, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform psychrometric analysis, moisture-load calculations, cooling and heating-load calculations, airflow calculations, and hydraulic calculations.
• Select and size commercial and industrial dehumidifiers for pools, warehouses, and other facilities.
• Select and size solar water-heating and heat-pump systems based on demand and climate conditions.
• Review project specifications, mechanical drawings, tender documents, equipment schedules, and BOQs.
• Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, equipment schedules, calculation sheets, and proposals.
• Develop mechanical layouts, schematic drawings, equipment arrangements, and installation concepts.
• Review AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP contractors, clients, suppliers, and manufacturers.
• Participate in technical meetings and explain engineering solutions clearly.
• Provide value-engineering alternatives and technical support to sales and project teams.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation.

HI-BEST is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Application Engineer to join our technical team in Riyadh.

The position is focused on engineering calculations, equipment selection, technical submissions, and application support for commercial and industrial dehumidification, solar water-heating, and heat-pump systems.

This is a technical office-based position and requires a strong engineering background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage the technical requirements of projects independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform psychrometric analysis, moisture-load calculations, cooling and heating-load calculations, airflow calculations, and hydraulic calculations.
• Select and size commercial and industrial dehumidifiers for swimming pools, warehouses, cold rooms, hotels, commercial buildings, and industrial facilities.
• Select and size solar water-heating and heat-pump systems based on hot-water demand, operating temperatures, climate conditions, and project requirements.
• Review project specifications, mechanical drawings, tender documents, equipment schedules, and BOQs.
• Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements, equipment schedules, selection reports, calculation sheets, and technical-commercial proposals.
• Develop mechanical layouts, schematic drawings, equipment arrangements, and installation concepts.
• Review AutoCAD, Revit MEP, BIM, and MEP coordination drawings.
• Coordinate with consultants, MEP contractors, clients, suppliers, and international manufacturers.
• Participate in technical meetings, respond to consultant comments, and clearly explain the proposed engineering solutions.
• Provide value-engineering alternatives and technical support to the sales and project teams.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system performance evaluation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in mechanical application engineering, HVAC design, technical presales, or equipment selection.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, psychrometrics, humidity control, ventilation, sensible and latent loads, airflow, and duct-system fundamentals.
• Proven ability to independently perform engineering calculations and select suitable equipment.
• Strong experience in reviewing mechanical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and consultant requirements.
• Proficiency in Carrier HAP, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to prepare professional technical submittals, compliance sheets, calculation reports, and equipment schedules.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical presentation, coordination, and client-handling capabilities.
• Strong written and spoken English; Arabic is an advantage.

Preferred Experience

• Commercial and industrial dehumidification systems.
• Indoor swimming-pool humidity control.
• Ducted, ceiling-mounted, and industrial dehumidifiers.
• Solar water-heating and heat-pump systems.
• Technical coordination with consultants and MEP contractors.
• Testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment.
• Experience with T*SOL, Polysun, or other system-selection software is an advantage.

We are looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented engineer who can independently analyze project requirements, perform accurate calculations, select the correct solution, prepare complete technical documentation, and confidently communicate with consultants, contractors, clients, and manufacturers.

Please note that this position is not suitable for candidates whose experience is limited to maintenance, drafting, site supervision, or general equipment sales.
