Job summary

Tecnicas Reunidas is seeking a Material Engineer to manage and coordinate all materials for EPC projects at a project site in Saudi Arabia.

The role requires 8+ years of experience in oil & gas or petrochemical projects, strong knowledge of materials, codes, SAP, and collaboration with procurement, engineering, QA. You will review specifications, prepare MTOs, monitor delivery, and ensure material control throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Material Engineer within EPC projects.
• Proven experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of engineering materials, international codes, standards, and project specifications.
• Experience with material management systems and SAP.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, material requisitions, and technical data sheets.
• Prepare and verify Material Take-Offs (MTOs) and material requisitions.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction, and vendor teams regarding material requirements.
• Conduct technical reviews of vendor quotations and provide recommendations.
• Ensure compliance of all materials with project specifications, applicable codes, and international standards.
• Monitor material delivery schedules and identify shortages, risks, or delays.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documentation, and material certifications.
• Support procurement through Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Coordinate material inspections and quality assurance/quality control activities.
• Resolve material-related technical issues during engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
• Maintain material tracking reports, inventory records, and status updates.
• Ensure compliance with project quality, safety, and client requirements.
